The folks at Vogue Russia just posted a recent video of Aliona Doletskaya having a lovely chat with Jean Paul Gaultier.

Aliona is bad ass! How many chain-smoking, BRA-LESS (?), tank top-wearing, husky-voiced Editors who still looks chic while interviewing a legendary French designer in the middle of Red Square do you know? She’s irreplaceable!

I don’t think I’ll ever get over Alexander McQueen’s passing. It’s so bittersweet that my first Alexander McQueen show was also his last. With womenswear collections just around the corner, I’m very curious what his successor, Sarah Burton, will come up under his name.

Meanwhile, have you seen McQueen’s first underwear collection for men?

available for sale at Oki-Ni. Prices range from 40 – 55. A bit pricey for boxers and briefs but hey, they’re McQueen! I’m sure it doesn’t hurt to indulge from time to time…

You gotta give mad props to this flamboyant guy for being more enthusiastic about cheerleading than I am about anything in my life at the moment. OK, that’s not true. But still. I may put my masculinity on hold by sporting fabulous wedges but this guy deserves an award for having the spirit.

While the rest of the fashion pack went to Moncler, I went to the Prada venue an hour before the indicated show time. I was early so I walked to a nearby cafe for a snack. When I walked in, two editors from a Chinese magazine recognized me and we had a quick chat. They wanted to take photos backstage. They invited me to join them but I didn’t have a backstage pass.

I decided to join them anyway. What the heck. I don’t normally sneak in, in fact, I don’t go anywhere unless I’m invited but Prada is Prada. It’s one of the biggest shows in Milan.

If memory served me right, the backstage pass is exactly the same as the show invitation except the letters ‘BS’ were scribbled on them.
Security didn’t question me when I waved my show invitation. They simply
let me through. Ahhh, lady
luck is on my side.

I had lots of time to spare so before I went inside, I looked for one of the press officers at Prada who has been very taking good care of me for the past year. We’ve exchanged several emails in the past and he also gave me front
row seats at the women’s and men’s shows. I thought it would be nice to meet him for the first time and of course, thank him in person. After exchanging HIs and Hellos, I quickly apologized for ’sneaking in’ and going backstage without submitting a request. I had a good chuckle when he told me I’m a celebrity.

Moving along. here are some snaps I took backstage/hair & make-up. You won’t see the looks, of course. They’re in a separate area. I’ve been told that Prada is very, very strict and in this day and age of internet and mobile phones, they don’t want to release photos of the looks until showtime.

Russian Sailor Hat

As much as I want to tell you all that a hot, tall, blond, well-hung Russian sailor gave me my hat in exchange for a blowjob, sadly it is not the case because I bought it for like $10 from a souvenier stall during a recent trip to St. Petersburg.

I wore it to Dunhill in Paris where, after the show, I shared a ciggie with good ol’ Nicola Formichetti. I always have the most interesting conversations with him. This time around he asked when I’m visiting the USA next and whether I’ve been to a Lady Gaga concert. I told him I’ve never been to a Lady Gaga concert because it’s so hard to get tickets and the good seats always get sold out quickly. Well, no tickets, no problem. Just give him a buzz and I’ll be a guest of Gaga. Natch! Now all I need to do is wear hooker boots and a thong. I kid, I kid.

Gaga aside, I have nothing but sheer admiration for Nicola’s talent. He is truly one of the most inspirational and creative people I know. One of my dreams in life is to get the Formichetti treatment. Can you imagine what I’d look like (and the sort of pictures as a result) if he strip me stark bollock naked, give me a makeover (I’m not talking Clueless Cher and Tai makeovers), style me into a real-life fashion editorial and made me werq like the rent is due tomorrow? One can only wish.

Meanwhile, I wore the same hat at the New York, New York party I co-hosted at the legendary Parisian club, Le Montana.
